There is an atmosphere and energy to drawings made on location that is different to those created from the comforts of the studio. Something about the immediacy of being in the environment you are drawing - the visceral 

experience of it - translates on to the page. I enjoy the challenges of working outside in all conditions. It has become an essential part of my practice, and always feels like an adventure capturing a fleeting moment in a place at that particular time, season, light and weather.
